Strange UFOs at the bridge

The historic Weber Creek Bridge at Big Cut in Diamond Springs, California, has over the years been considered a strange place of wild and unknown activity, and not for the faint of heart. Recently more bizarre and supernatural tales than usual were being filtered into our headquarters, meaning Gold Rush Ghosts Paranormal Investigators thought it time to take a look at the place once again. The old bridge was built in 1922, and designed by one Clifton J. Wildman. Maybe the name is an omen. Weber Creek has a sister bridge on the nearby Green Valley Road, but such strange activity does not seem to want to travel that bridge. It is only this one that has been reported over and over through the years for unaccountable activity. Built by Hector Williams, the man was known for using materials right out of the river bed to make his concrete. He built the deck of the bridge approximately 18’ wide X 48’ long with a vertical clearance of about 9’ above the stream bed. Perhaps it is the naturalism and remoteness of it all that entices UFO’s or USO’s (Unidentified Submersible Objects) to hover and find their way here. We do not know.
What we do know, is that on this warm April morning, our crew gathered at the Gold Rush Ghosts Paranormal headquarters to check their equipment and make last minute adjustments as to what was needed. On this investigation with us would be seasoned investigators Cat Noble, Wayne Peterson, Renee’ Miller, Judy Cooper, Danielle Carpenter, Liz Harrison, Robert Reppert, and myself.
The date is April 27, 2009. Story has it that in 1989 three young boys, teenagers, camping for the night along the creek near the Weber Bridge, experienced seeing a ball of light following the river about 2 ft off the water. It was about 3 ft. in diameter and green in color. It moved slowly and deliberately directly in front of them, following the streams path. As it came to the bridge it adjusted to go under it. The object continued on down the path of the creek for approximately 6 ft, at this point getting closer and closer to the lads. And then, right in front of them, the mysterious ball shot directly up into the sky and disappeared. One of the boys that witnessed this first hand was a much younger Robert Reppert who now owns and operates Gold Rush Ghosts Paranormal Investigations. Forty years old now, he has never deviated from his recall of that sighting, nor have any of the other boys that are now men his own age. Over the years several newspaper accounts of similar sightings have been recorded, and such stories have taken on a legend all their own in this part of the country. You would hear about it, and then nothing for a long time. This last month was exceptionally active if one was to consider all the stories of a UFO nature under the bridge coming back to our organization. We shall see.
It was 1:30 pm when we finally arrived at the bridge. Although it was the middle of the day and not the most opportune time for activity to be generally sighted, we thought we would explore the possibility of any daytime activity, and then send Reppert back that night with Bob King, another investigator, for infra-red shots and more investigation. As we drove up and parked our cars to the side of the bridge, there was a small breeze in the air. Good! The sun was coming through the trees warmly, we were happy for a little relief.
Now when I talk about the bridge, keep in mind the dimensions. This is a short creek bridge, at ground level with the creek right below it, barely enough room for two cars to pass each other going in different directions. On this day a lizard unhappy with us being there scurried away, and a hawk swooped down, delighted to relieve the creek of a dead fish at the waters edge. The fish, caught between the rocks was picked up effortlessly and the bird flew away. Weber Bridge is in the woods of northern California. All is quiet here, except for the sound of swift moving water going over the rocks and under the bridge on its quest for what is just around the next bend. There had been rain recently, and the creek was full and deeper than we remembered last time we took a peak at this spot. It was noted by all that it would be hard to navigate the path that would lead us to where the boys of so long ago were camping, but Reppert made his way through the water, camera and equipment in hand. Immediate impressions from Reppert was that all was still familiar, except the course of the river had changed slightly from all those years ago, making a new path of movement through the woods in several places not related to this story. No matter, the water still went directly under the bridge at the same spot, and the river had not changed in the area at all from when he had seen the UFO. Luckily for us, where they camped was visible from the vantage point of the rest of the investigators.
I have taught my investigators well, they know that first impressions are important, but they also know that they must follow their instincts with facts if we are to report them. This is the first rule of GRG. We do NOT want a bunch of psychic predictions that cannot be substantiated. And so the crew took off in all directions, meters and cameras in hand hunting for the truth at Weber Bridge.
Because UFO energy is usually heavier than that of Spirit activity, the majority of our group experienced feeling heavy air and noted having a little trouble breathing right at the bridge. Ah, there IS activity at the bridge during the day. Good! Over the years and as we developed as a group, we have become a crew with little patience. We hate to waste time, knowing statistically that only one of every eight or so investigations proves fruitful enough to be written about and recorded.
Strangely, as the investigation continued, Judy Cooper had a different experience than the rest of us, that of feeling heavy in the chest at the bridge. From her recollections, “Although everyone else seemed to feel heavy energy, I was feeling light headed. I decided to walk back in the brush. My heat meter ranged 10 to 11 degrees in one spot, which was very unusual. I felt like we were being watched. What a beautiful day it was to be down there by the creek though. We couldn’t have picked a better time!” Interestingly, I have found that those that are more in touch with UFO activity have a feeling of light headedness. Others, not so much in communication, feel heaviness in the chest. UFO energy is naturally a heavier energy than spirit activity, and it appears from our research that those that have regular encounters, no longer have the heavy weighted feeling when in the presence of alien craft. However, on this day, I am certain everything that we felt was from residue energy of when the craft was there. Clearly we all had the collective feeling that some beings were spying on us as much as we were them, the hair on our arms went up, tingling, and the back of our necks had that funny feeling you get when you are being watched. If these were not seasoned investigators with us this trip, it was clear to me that some would have asked to leave. It was extremely intense energy we were sharing with something or someone else on this planet, perhaps not OF this planet.
I have found that when working on UFO/USO activity the human body needs salt. This is true whether UFO/USO activity is around the ocean, which is salt water, or not. And so it is customary for my crew to load up on potato chips or other salty foods prior to an investigation, and also afterwards because you can feel drained of water and salt. As water follows salt, those without a medical problem on my crew will always put a dash of salt in their drinking water on investigations of this type. It just makes things easier.
As time moved on, investigator Wayne Peterson reported back to us “ When I stood on the bridge I asked my spirit wands if there was spirits in the area and the answer was yes.” Not uncommon, there were likely settlers around this area at some time in the past, possibly even old farmhouses or lean-tos long abandoned. Peterson was quick to also tell us, “Then I asked if there was any UFO activity and the wands crossed almost immediately before I finished the question.” Peterson continued, “While standing near an almost completely covered foundation of what might have been an old farmhouse years ago, Renee Miller asked me to ask the wands if a woman had died there and if she had suffered a sad heart. The wands crossed on both questions. I though that maybe the spirits around me were related so I asked that question and did not get a yes answer. I don’t want to confuse the spirits that follow me with those in the area” he said. Obviously there is no scientific ways to know if a woman had a sad heart when she died, so we had to throw that out of the investigation. I did check records at the county level and could pull up little about the site, so with no way to substantiate such feelings we disregarded Miller’s possible impression.
Elizabeth Harrison was the next to go on record. “I had the feeling of heaviness and I had labored breathing at the bridge area. My EMF meter readings were at1-5. Harrison then excused herself from the investigation because of a migraine and backache, something she was suffering prior to going to the site. She was a trooper however, and stayed with us through the investigation and the review of material afterwards.
Danielle Carpenter stated, “While exploring by the creek at the opening of the bridge, I had a desire or pull in and get closer to be able to see more underneath the bridge itself. I took many photos hoping some evidence of a presence would appear. I also used the EMF meter to see if there was a fluctuation in energy, since the air energy felt different under the bridge, almost heavier, but with a slight whimsy feeling, wanting me to explore more. The EMF readings were at: .02- 1.8.” This does not surprise any of us as Carpenter has a feel for the strange and unknown. It is drawn to her like a magnet, and generally she can back it up scientifically. Carpenter she quickly continued “When I got up on top of the bridge right above the creek, the energy was definitely heavy, but not now in the same whimsical way. It was like a constant gravity pulling at me if that makes any sense?” To us that are psychic investigators, it makes COMPLETE sense!
“I also had a feeling as some others did, that we were being watched from the bushes” she continued. Photos were taken of some of these bushes here in the woods to see if any phenomena came through. The thick brush past the bridge also had some distinct energy. “A sense of presence was there” Carpenter said, and “I took photos and did not get fluctuation on the EMF meter as I had previously.” Was the energy dissipating or were the inhabitants of long ago and those of another world just getting use to us being there and comfortable?
According to Cat Noble, “At first I had no indication that anything out of the ordinary was going on around us. Even so, as I took photos under the bridge, I sensed heaviness there. I tried to use my digital voice recorder but I was having trouble recording. For some reason, it said that files were ‘full’ when there was virtually nothing on them.” This is common problem and annoyance when in the presence of spirits or UFO/USO activity. Such energy drains batteries. Electrical equipment can also go haywire, even blow up. Once out of their presence, camera and other equipment will resume working just fine. Nobel continued, “Then again, something wasn’t quite right. Were WE the ones under investigation instead of the other way around? I felt that we were being observed.”
In notes from Renee Miller, “I got the feeling that there was or had been UFO activity in the trees. I could not see anything with my naked eye, but having been on many investigations with GRG for our television show INVESTIGATING THE UNKNOWN, and there are some things that are repeat feelings and behaviors. On the bridge, it was hard to breathe.”
Laura Martucci gave her impressions: “I had a feeling from the bridge that I was being watched. It was most prevalent when I went down to the river for EMF readings and photos.”
We spent the better part of 2 hours at the bridge, and then came back to the office to review the photos. The one taken by Carpenter clearly showed a spirit in the bushes observing us in the exact spot where she sensed it, and you will see that photo here with this article. We continued to eat potato chips, needing the salt. Ah, a good excuse to eat junk food!
As we went through our photos and equipment Martucci was to notice something that happens, as I said before, quite often in investigations. “You are not going to believe what happened” she told us. “Liz (Harrison) and I were going through the EVP reads. I had put my recorder directly on the bridge to see what would happen, and the EVP’s shut-off five seconds after it was placed on the bridge. I still have what I recorded prior. Please take note that the recorder was placed in the same location that the EMF reads jumped.”
Martucci became excited with these strange happenings. “The next thing that Liz and I worked on was checking out the photos, etc. Earlier Robert (Reppert) could not download the pictures. We found that this was because the disk was ERASED! There was nothing is left on it. I did not touch it since I used it on the investigation. There is just no natural reason for any of that to have happened!” I had to laugh. “Except paranormal activity of one kind or another!” I told her.
The next evening Reppert and King went to the bridge at about 11:45 pm. There were strange orbs floating around, visible from the naked eye, high in the sky. They got out their infra-red cameras and video as well and made the following assessments. “Even as a kid when we would go swimming at the bridge I always felt as if we were being watched.”
Reppert told us. “I have camped in many different spots along the river and never had the same feeling I get at the bridge. “The night my friends and I saw the craft was in July, and we were camping just up from the bridge. We could see it clearly from our location. We saw a distant light down stream around 10:00 pm. We could see it was green in color and it was moving upstream toward us, which was unnerving. As it neared we could see that it was like an orb and appeared to be floating off the water. It passed under the bridge and then stopped for a second. It then flew straight up and out of sight. It appeared to disappear mid-sky. We then packed up and went to my house as not to run into the thing again.” Reppert then discussed what transpired this investigation when he and King went back that evening. “After investigating the bridge with the core group earlier, the decision was made for Bob (King) and I to return at evening. Again at the bridge we felt we were being watched. I took some night shots and came up with the photos enclosed with this article. There was clearly a presence at the bridge that felt as if we were being watched...
For now we are convinced that the energy at Weber Bridge is going heavy again. Statistically it happens most in the spring and summer. We will keep an eye on the place for you, continuously checking back for new activity.
