El Dorado preliminary investigation

Yesterday a dear friend of mine called stating that he didn’t know where else to turn. He was worried about an elderly lady in El Dorado County who was seeing things in and around her home. She would tell others what was happening to her and they didn’t believe her. It had gotten to a point, the night before, she called the police station stating someone was in her car, and she couldn’t go anywhere. I let him know that I would be happy to speak with her and see if we could get to the bottom of this. When I first sat down with this lovely woman she didn’t seem panicked or scared. She calmly began to tell me about the things she has experienced since the day she moved in, 20 years ago.

The first report was of a man who would stand by her tree in the back yard. He was a younger gentleman with dirty blonde hair, who wore jeans and a T-shirt, with something written on it, she could never quite see what. When she spoke to him, asking if he was ok, she claimed he would look at her with confusion. She had also seen him in the front yard with, what she assumed was his wife and two children; they would wave at her cordially and she would wave back. After this she spoke of the heads with no bodies, sometimes she would see the heads sticking up from the ground, other times she would just see mounds of dirt and grass where the heads might be, and then they would be gone. Next she spoke of a young woman who would come to visit, talk, and watch TV with her. She said that the woman would talk to her about living up the hill, and that there were family problems that her mother said she caused. The woman wore only a dress and had no legs from the knees down.

Although our client had spoken with this young woman she never got a name from her. Lastly there is the man in the car who would not let our client leave. She claims that there was a man, who had the key to her car around his neck; he would stand or sit in the car stating that he was going to harm her daughter. He would reportedly sit in her car and tell her if she wanted to leave she would have to sit on his lap. She stated that she had hit him several times and he had threatened to hit her back, but he never did. This was the incident related to the police officers being called, by her, and no one was found. When we went out to the car, she looked in the back seat, asked what “they” were doing, and turned to me to say “well I guess they want to be left alone”. I didn’t ask if they were there for us to see, but from her reaction of looking into the car I assumed that she saw them there.

For those of you that don’t know me, I will be working on the PhD in Psychology in a year’s time. The wonderful lady had talked to her son and daughter about this and they told her she was just seeing things. She made claims of seeing her daughter and a friend in her hallway, and that the man in/by the car had her daughter in a small faucet in the car. She claimed to see the house on the hill that the young women, who visited her, claimed to live in and then it disappeared. After her husband died she became an alcoholic, and didn’t eat well or take care of herself at all. One day she had fallen down on the floor and was there for hours before her son had found her. When he took her to the hospital she was talking about different things she was seeing and the son had no idea what she was talking about. My friend that called with the problem stated that she didn’t talk about any of this until the falling incident occurred, after that she talked about it extensively while in the hospital and nursing home and now at her home; but as stated above she reported seeing things since the day she moved into her home. Although I will say that what she is seeing is very real to her, and some of it might be a case of apparitions, the majority of it is, unfortunately, a case of progressive dementia. She is an amazing woman who is alone a lot of the time, with many health problems that are irreversible. She was upset that no one would believe her and that the man in/by the car would not let her drive. She needed someone to listen and understand that what she was seeing was real to her, and although she was not afraid or worried, she was annoyed at some of these people who seem to be there to disrupt her day.

She always wanted to know, why they were there, and if we could help. She didn’t want a full investigation with people all over her home, so I let her know that I understood how frustrating it was for her, and that I would get help to research her property, and see if we could connect the things she is seeing with the history of the property. I also asked if she would like a blessing and cleansing done on her home, to see if we could send the people to a better place, or at least to the place they are suppose to be; she was very excited about this idea. So at this time I will wait to see if anything comes up on the property research and get a hold of those that are able to do a cleansing. I left her with my phone number so she can call anytime she needs someone to listen. Just remember apparitions or not, sometimes people just need to know they are being heard, and that someone believes them and is on their side (Two open ears are always better than one open mouth).

Stay safe and sane,

Having read, this sounds like a wild, contrived story in my opinion. I don't believe any of this for a second.

First, thank you for running my story. Pallidin, I do have to say that the insult was not taken lightly. I don't make up stories, especially about those that have an illness. Every time I speak with my friend I ask about her to see if her children are doing anything to help her. The answer is yes, they have been taking her to the doctors to make sure that they keep the dementia from progressing any further. Everyday use to be a bad day for her, but now her days or favoring good, for now. Meaning she is having fewer hallucinations, and functioning better on her own. So not only did you insult m... [More]

i found the story to be very interesting. i also thought it was insulting to say it was made up. i'm glad the woman is doing better now.

Thank you so much, it was the first I have ever written anything like this, and to tell you the truth, I didn't expect it to be posted anywhere, I wrote it for the head of our paranormal group so that he knew what was going on with her and that we didn't need to do much more then a cleansing. He asked if he could send it out and I thought it would be good so when people read it they would understand that what was first thought to be paranormal could end up be... [More]

This actually brings up an interesting point of nurture vs. nature. In other words, are things affecting us, or are we affecting things? Is the boogy man a figment of one's imagination, or is one being haunted by the boogy man? In the study of the paranormal, I believe, there is a fine line between cause and effect, and effectual cause. For example, it is widely believed that high amounts of EMF may have multiple adverse effects on the human psyche, but also give energy which spirits can "feed" off of. The use of devices such as an EMF pulser may actually do one or the other, but it is very ha... [More]
