A man who died several months ago from cancer left his family a tip and £250 to place a bet on 100-1 Grand National outsider Mon Mome. From beyond the grave his bet scooped £20,000.
For one family last weekend's Grand National was more than just a race - it was the fulfilment of a wish from beyond the grave. Danny Shea, 66, a passionate horse racing fan, died from cancer five months ago. But knowing he would never see this years race he left his family a "tip" and £250 to place the bet."

That is fantastic. My grandad used to write his lottery numbers and leave them in a china cup with a pound coin ready to take to the Post Office on a Saturday and buy his ticket. My gran never played the lottery but found the slip of paper weeks after his death and asked my dad to get the ticket as grandad would've and it won £1200. Everyone said it was a really nice story but my grandad wouldn't have thought that, he would be royally peeved that he missed out!
