Couple celebrate 81st wedding anniversary

The oldest married couple in Britain have celebrated their 81st wedding anniversary. Mr and Mrs Milford, both now 101 years old married in 1928 after meeting at a dance and now have 2 children, 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
The longest-living married couple in Britain have toasted to 81 years of marriage. Frank and Anita Milford tied the knot at Torpoint registry office in Cornwall on May 26, 1928, after meeting at a dance in the St Budeaux area of Plymouth in 1926."

Just occurred to me...what anniversary gift is it for 81 years? You know for example,ruby is...errr......50?? (showing my ignorance here) I know silver is 25 years cos as a nipper I wrote The Queen a poem for her 25th year on the throne and got a letter back from B'Ham Palace But not a scoobie what you get for an 81st

if it were back in the times they could get married when they were 13 then they couldve been married for even longer

Wow, married for 81 years! A heart warming story for sure. Definitely. Although I wouldn't really put in the "Bizarre" section. It's a rare occurance rather than something weird.
