A new artificial lens has been developed that can allow people to see in high definition. The operation to implant the new lens has been carried out on patients and has provided a substantial increase in visual acuity.
Patients are having their eyes fitted with an artificial lens that allows them to see in high definition. Surgeons begin the process by implanting the lens into the eye using the standard procedure for cataracts.

On a side not I don't think people can really see much of a difference between 720p and 1080p. Dunno if you play computer games at all, but monitors have essentially been on par with high def for 20 years or so. And I assure you, any gamer can tell the difference between a 1280 X 800 and a 1280 X 1024 resolution.

I'm not a candidate for lasik so I probably won't be a candidate for this type of surgery either. Which is a damn shame because even with glasses, my sight is nowhere near 20/20.

I had my Lasik done about 7-8 years ago. I didn't have too many problems, other than some strong unexpected pain during the operation. But I couldn't blink with the knife in my eye. They told me I had 20/15 vision afterwards.

my eyes are fine as is, unless i can get a zoom feature... maybe a night/infrared vision option. (next thing we know we'll have advertisements playing in our head... OMG someone finding a way to hack my eyes and watching me shower through my own eyes!)

If they can do this, they might as well get cracking with that night vision ability I have been wishing for! Seeing in the nighttime like a kitty sounds useful.

Hmmm. And what would happen if after this surgery a patient accidentally gets a black eye?
