Exactly. I think it probably has a lot more to do with being active in things that interest you. It keeps both your body and mind going. If you're bored, you are probably not doing anything. I have an 88 year old uncle who, up until he had a stroke last year, went water skiing regularly and 'moonlighted' doing HVAC work because it was his career and he enjoyed it. My grandma's lack of boredom did her in....stayed active right up until she keeled over pruning her rose garden. It sounds like she went doing something she loved...
