Study suggests "boredom can kill you"

A new study has revealed that people who are bored all the time are more likely to die than people who aren't.
The find was based on data collected from over 7000 civil servants interviewed in the 1980's, it is believed that the link is due to bored people being more likely to turn to unhealthy habits such as smoking or drinking.
Boredom can actually kill you, a new study has revealed. To reach the conclusion, researchers at University College London looked at data from 7524 civil servants, aged between 35 and 55, interviewed between 1985 and 1988 about their levels of boredom.

Exactly. I think it probably has a lot more to do with being active in things that interest you. It keeps both your body and mind going. If you're bored, you are probably not doing anything. I have an 88 year old uncle who, up until he had a stroke last year, went water skiing regularly and 'moonlighted' doing HVAC work because it was his career and he enjoyed it. He can't do that anymore (walks with a walker), so now he's decided to take up metal sculpting and welding, which he can do sitting down. My grandma's lack of boredom did her in....stayed active right up until she keeled over pruning her rose garden. It sounds like she went doing something she loved...

Well, sitting in class looking at power points and listening to professors literally read off the slides from 8-5 M-F is increasing my chances right now... might as well start making my "Will" in class tomorrow...
