Gene therapy 'success' revealed

A new report has revealed that doctors successfully used gene therapy for the first time to treat a blood disorder.
In what is being hailed as a huge step forward for gene therapy doctors were able to use the technique to treat the stem cells of a man suffering from a genetic blood disorder with "remarkable" results.
Gene therapy has been used for the first time to treat an inherited blood disorder in what doctors say is a major step forward. A man given pioneering treatment to correct a faulty gene has made "remarkable" progress, a US and French team has revealed.

Yes, BL, most definately. There's not even any real way to have a problem with it anymore; with the advances we've recently seen. I understand the problem that some have with where stem cells are sourced for research and use. But there have been advances in using our technology to actually GENERATE stem cells from adult cells (particularly fat cells, but even other cells too, like blood). This means that, if only this type of source is used, there are no real valid ethical complaints to be made.
