Australian X-Files have gone missing

Department of Defence documents detailing UFO reports in Australia have allegedly gone missing.
Last year the British government released over 4,000 pages of documents pertaining to UFOs, but now requests for the release of Australia's UFO files have been met with a rather disappointing response - most of them appear to have gone missing.
The department spent two months searching its offices for files that would be captured by the Herald's FOI application, which sought a ''schedule of records held by the Department of Defence … which relate to unidentified flying objects''.

The Clot Thickens !

WELL the plot thickens indeed.... turns out, they're not missing at all. It boils down to desperate journalist for Fairfax media turns a very boring research exercise and encounter with an equally incompetent govt. employee into a click-farming exercise. By putting the right spin on it, the journo got LOTS of unwarranted attention. The Sydney Morning Herald asked Bill Chalker for comment on the "missing files." his response was that they weren't missing at all, they are even online. I remember these files being released a while ago too. Being an Aussie i try to keep up to date on the UFO Phenomena here as much as possible. Albeit its a much harder thing to research than say the UK's or USA's. But i do believe those files had already been released?
