Council places "keep off" sign on tiny verge

The London council has been quizzed over its bizarre use of "keep off the grass" signs.
Locals were left baffled when one sign was placed on a tiny piece of rough grass measuring 3ft by 2ft at the side of a road. "It is a ridiculous waste of money, especially in the context of council cuts and redundancies," said resident Tom Beardmore.
It's a patch of scruffy grass barely big enough to sit down on – but that hasn’t stopped one town hall making a great deal of fuss about it. The verge measures only 3ft by 2ft but has its own ‘Keep Off The Grass’ sign. The warning has appeared as officials plan £70million of cuts.

where is the grass? Looks to me more like weeds and dirt.If they do not want people on that small piece of weeds they should ensure it at least have GRASS! I think the council was smoking too much 'grass' themselves! Kick those bozos out and vote in someone who actually takes their job seriously at taxpayer expense! Must be the only plot of green in that town!

Start walking on the grass in protest. That'll get 'em fired up.

Did it ever occur to anyone that the sign may have been moved from someplace else? From, let's say, I bigger patch of grass that's just been planted?
