Cuban man has 24 digits

Yoandri Hernandez Garrido has 6 perfectly formed fingers on each hand and 6 perfect toes on each foot.
Far from being a hindrance, Hernandez claims that his additional digits are a blessing and have helped him to carve out a living climbing up trees to collect coconuts and by being paid by tourists to have his photograph taken with them.
Known as polydactyly, Hernandez's condition is relatively common, but it's rare for the extra digits to be so perfect. Anyone who glanced quickly at his hands would be hard-pressed to notice anything different unless they paused and started counting.

What if 6 fingers and toes is the next phase of human evolution?

this really has nothing to do with anything but the word "polydactyly" reminds me of pterodactyl which is a dinosaur

I wonder whether we'd all be using the duodecimal system as a base today if we all had twelve fingers? I doubt it's the next step in human evolution though, since for it to become evolution, the trait needs to give people having the extra digits an evolutionary edge over the ones who don't have it. I don't see how playing guitar or piano gives you an evolutionary edge over others. And although being better at fetching coconuts could certainly qualify as an edge, there are a lot of people that are as good as they need be at that with only twenty digits. I also think it's sad that people should ... [More]

not evolution. He obviously has remnants of the other races that were here before us. It is said that some of the nephilim were having six fingers, etc, as well as some having double rows of teeth. If you google double rows of teeth (images) you will see that they did not quite completely remove all of their traits when combining their genes with ours. Theres always rare glimpses of what they might have looked like with things like this happening... My father had two rows of adult teeth.

What if 6 fingers and toes is the next phase of human evolution? Yes, but he has to cross the phase "Natural selection" first ie have a wife and a kid.

Hey Sam, last time I checked, Cuba was in the Western World. Has it since moved east or something? Thanks for pointing that out, Muenzenhamster. Lol, unfortunately it hasn't moved east. Wouldn't mind it being closer...but anyway. Though Cuba’s in the Western Hemisphere it does not share the West ‘mentality’, which is what I was meaning though I said ‘born in the West’ (A mistake on my part as I’ve never looked upon Cuba being part of the West due to the conflicts between Cuba and Western Countries). I live in Australia that is in the Asian region but it is a Western mentality count... [More]
