A Star Trek fan brandished the deadly weapon after his wife got in to an argument with their neighbor.
The ridiculous incident began when Joyce Cerutti confronted her next-door neighbor because he had been putting items of rubbish in to her bin after being evicted from his house.

"Our next door neighbour was evicted and he was throwing his stuff in our garbage can so I put it in a bag, took it to him and said ‘Jr. will you please not put your stuff in our garbage can'," she said.

"I turned around and he chucked the bag at me and hit me in the back and then he started throwing garbage all over my yard."
It was at this moment that Carlo Morris Cerutti, having heard the commotion, emerged from their house brandishing a Klingon Bat'Leth - a large multi-bladed weapon from the Star Trek franchise.

The neighbor managed to wrestle the sword from Cerutti's hands just before the police arrived.

Despite his wife's assertions that he had only used the weapon in self-defense, Cerutti ended up being arrested over the incident and was later charged with assault.
