A mysterious visitor to a library in Ohio has been leaving dozens of empty sauce bottles on the shelves.
Staff members at Avon Lake Public Library have been finding the brown steak sauce bottles, each seemingly cleaned to perfection, in various places around the library since January 11th.

As things stand however, nobody seems to know who has been leaving them or for what purpose.

"They're real clean, like they've been put through a dishwasher," said the library's public relations and marketing coordinator Jill Ralston. "We're all playing detective."

Some of the staff members attempted to map out where each of the bottles had been found in an effort to look for some sort of pattern or clue, but to no avail.

"It became something everyone wanted to find," said supervisor Dan Cotton. "We mapped the first 12 to see if we could find a pattern, but we couldn't find a discernible pattern."

The total number of bottles found in the library since January currently stands at 30.
