Anonymous: 'NASA to announce alien life'

Has NASA discovered evidence of ET ? Image Credit: CC BY 3.0 John Masterson, CSIRO The prediction is based primarily on comments NASA's associate administrator, Thomas Zurbuchen, made during a congressional hearing on 'Advances in the Search for Life' back in April.

"Our civilisation is on the verge of discovering evidence of alien life in the cosmos," he said.

"Taking into account all of the different activities and missions that are specifically searching for evidence of alien life we are on the verge of making one of the most profound and unprecedented discoveries in history."The hacking group also commented on the fact that many recent discoveries, such as the presence of hydrogen on Enceladus, the existence of oceans on Europa and the large number of potentially habitable planets found orbiting distant stars, all increase the likelihood that we will find evidence of extraterrestrial life sooner rather than later.

"Something is going on in the skies above," they wrote.

While their prediction doesn't appear to have brought anything particularly new to the table and certainly nothing in the way of a smoking gun, it will be interesting to see what, if anything, NASA actually does announce over the coming weeks and months.
