'Beach' optical illusion has been perplexing the Internet this week

Initially, pretty much everyone will likely answer that they can see a night-time beach scene with the ocean waves lapping against the shoreline, a star in the sky and a boat off in the distance.

On closer inspection, however, things may not be quite as they seem.

This mind-bending illusion, which has been baffling people on social media for years, has a secret that might not even be obvious if you happen to know what to look for.The 'beach', it turns out, is in fact an image of a car... yes, a car.

If you look closely, the 'sand' is in fact the ground beneath the car and the 'ocean' is the bodywork.

It can take some time to switch your perception from one to the other.
