The new owners of the residential property got the fright of their lives when the space rock crashed through their ceiling.
The likelihood of a meteorite hitting your house might seem astronomically small and while this is certainly true, it is inevitable that it is going to happen to someone, somewhere, sooner or later.

This is exactly the scenario that took place in Hopewell Township, New Jersey approximately 10 miles north of Trenton on Monday afternoon when local police were called out to attend the scene of a one-in-a-million meteorite impact that punched a hole right through the roof of a residential house.
According to Hopewell Township Police Department, someone had been home at the time but the meteorite fortunately missed whoever was inside and did not cause any injuries.

"It penetrated the roof, the ceiling and then impacted the hardwood floor before coming to a rest," the reports states. "This may be related to a current Meteor shower called the Eta Aquariids."

Damn, before I saw the metal, I would have thought it was just a block of airplane toilet refuse, frozen solid, being dumped by jets coming in to land at LGA or JFK.

Did it hit Chris Christie's house? I mean, I hope not. That would be terrible.

If you look closely at the pictures there seems to be a strange piece of metal embedded in the meteorite.

It's been confirmed. It was a chondrite meteorite that hit the house.
