UFOs abound in Maryland with nearly 2,000 reports of unknown objects

Maryland is no stranger to sightings of UFOs. Image Credit: Pixabay / andischlereth Maryland has certainly seen an above average share of UFO sightings in recent years - that is, at least, according to the latest figures released by the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC).

The Mid-Atlantic state has seen recorded sightings dating back as far as 1946 and as recently as last month, with witnesses describing all manner of shapes and characteristics ranging from fireballs shooting across the sky to flashing diamond-shaped and oval-shaped objects that change shape.

Some of the witnesses waited years before finally deciding to report what they'd seen."It's heartening to me that so many people are coming forward now," director Peter Davenport told WJZ. "We are getting significantly more reports than just six months or a year ago."

"I don't know what the future has in store for us, but I am encouraged that more people are coming forward and the government recognizes the UFO phenomenon that's something worthy of their attention."
