This 'flying saucer' is the real deal... but it's probably not what you think

Image: AI-generated (Midjourney) If you ever happen to see this thing careening toward you, you might be forgiven for thinking that aliens have landed... that is, at least, until you notice that it can only move on the water.

Invented and developed by Vietnamese inventor Trang Long Ho, this unique UFO-shaped vehicle is actually a jet boat that has been painstakingly made to look like a flying saucer.

The process of designing and building the boat was surprisingly simple, using techniques such as sculpting a basic mould shape out of sand and creating the hull from fiberglass and epoxy.The completed vehicle is capable of reaching a top speed of around 31mph.

In a video published on Trang Long Ho's channel, the inventor can be seen painstakingly putting his creation together before putting his foot down on a local waterway to test it out.

The design is particularly impressive and the finished UFO-shaped hull is practically seamless.
