A recently released documentary follows the adventures of 15-year-old Daniel Lee Barnett from Somerset, England.
The teenager's passion for the mystery surrounding the possible existence of Bigfoot has become the focus of a major new documentary that was released a couple of months ago.
Daniel, who struggles with autism, travelled to the Quantock Hills in Washington and spent the better part of two years working with a film crew and a team of investigators to hunt down the creature.
"I had the pleasure of filming with some of the amazing researchers in the Bigfoot world," he said.
"It was just a pleasure to learn from them and have them as my mentors."
"Washington is known as the Bigfoot capital of the world and the top number of sightings is in the Olympic National Park in Washington State."
One of the more unexpected things about Daniel's experience making the film is how it has helped him overcome his mental health struggles.
At one point during filming, he had to speak at a conference in front of thousands of people.
"I can't begin to explain what a difference it made to him," his grandfather said.
"To see him before with the struggles he was going through with social interactions, with schooling, afterwards, the release you could see that he went through was just phenomenal."
