A father-of-three has reported seeing a strange creature in an area notorious for unusual sightings and phenomena.
Situated in rural Staffordshire, England, the area of countryside known as Cannock Chase has gained something of a reputation over the years for being home to all manner of weird and disturbing things.

Both visitors and locals alike have reported everything from UFOs and paranormal phenomena to sightings of strange creatures wandering through the woods.

This latest example comes courtesy of a man who had been out walking there with his partner on New Year's Day when he caught sight of a large, "broad" and "upright" beast moving at great speed.

Describing the animal as being 7-10 feet in height, he now believes that it could have been some type of Bigfoot-like creature similar to that seen in the Himalayas and the forests of North America.
"I turned suddenly and thought, 'what the hell was that?', as a large figure appeared from nowhere," he recalled. "It moved at speed along the lower ditch and disappeared as quickly as it had appeared."

"There was no sound, no trace of anything, but I'd sensed and seen a broad upright figure."

"This happened a few yards next to me, but didn't feel scary, just strangely calm. My partner was 20 yards ahead and she hadn't seen a thing. Our dog in-between us didn't react either."

His experience at Cannock Chase is by no means unique - there have been numerous such sightings reported there over the years.

Whether a strange creature really lurks there, or whether there is a more conventional explanation for such encounters, remains unclear.

Yeah for years I thought Ted Cassidy ( lurch ) but no, it was Andre, in a suit that shows the pgf very much was a man in a suit of the era, the 2 part episode was fairly convoluted, earth quakes, volcanos, nuclear bombs pretty 70s alien girl vaugly flirting with Steve Austin, it was a fun filled time all around.

My ocd made me go look it up, Actually when our furry permed friend returned due to fan popularity to pester the bionic woman it was Cassidy in the ape suit, so both Andre and Ted played him, and this might just explain what happened to the pgf suit,  More pointless trivia,  when the Minnesota iceman was all the sideshow rage others tried to cash in on the frozen man ape idea, one gaff was actually a body cast of Richard Kiel, made by Johnny chambers...hum. Here's a link for fun, not meaning to give true believers the pip. fur suits

The character was so popular he was bought back twice, played by Ted Cassidy in both later appearances. Andre the Giant was in the first 2 parter but didn't like the suit or make up.  Bigfoot was a robot controlled by aliens who used him to drive off people stumbling across their hidden mountain base. The aliens were led by Stefanie Powers, of all people, although she was written out in the 1st sequel. The robot bigfoot kept going haywire and only Steve Austen could tackle him.  The make up process notably degraded over the 3 stories, and was barely there by the third story. Obviously Cassid... If bored and you didn't already check my fur suit link, it really buries so much of the pgf believers bs about suits of that day.

Really!? How's this: The first confirmed capture of a live giant squid (Architeuthis dux) was by Japanese researchers in late 2006.  females reaching maximum lengths of roughly 13–15 meters (43–49 feet), including their long tentacles, and weighing up to 275 kg (606 lbs) or more Smile, Abramelin

That's a sea creature. And it's about the capture of a large squid already known to exist. But I will really smile when they capture a 7 foot tall upright ape. Btw., years ago they caught a socalled 'Bondo' or 'Billy' ape, supposedly some sort of hybrid of a gorilla and a chimp, aka 'lion killer'. It nested on the ground instead of in the trees, and had a sagittal crest. Well, you can find them in zoos now: they are nothing but a bit larger than normal chimps, and genetically the same.
