Man spots fast-moving 'Bigfoot' in England's Cannock Chase

Both visitors and locals alike have reported everything from UFOs and paranormal phenomena to sightings of strange creatures wandering through the woods.

This latest example comes courtesy of a man who had been out walking there with his partner on New Year's Day when he caught sight of a large, "broad" and "upright" beast moving at great speed.

Describing the animal as being 7-10 feet in height, he now believes that it could have been some type of Bigfoot-like creature similar to that seen in the Himalayas and the forests of North America."I turned suddenly and thought, 'what the hell was that?', as a large figure appeared from nowhere," he recalled. "It moved at speed along the lower ditch and disappeared as quickly as it had appeared."

"There was no sound, no trace of anything, but I'd sensed and seen a broad upright figure."

"This happened a few yards next to me, but didn't feel scary, just strangely calm. My partner was 20 yards ahead and she hadn't seen a thing. Our dog in-between us didn't react either."

His experience at Cannock Chase is by no means unique - there have been numerous such sightings reported there over the years.

Whether a strange creature really lurks there, or whether there is a more conventional explanation for such encounters, remains unclear.
