In a surprising move, President Trump has suddenly decided to release previously classified UFO documents.
Trump seems to have become rather enamored with the idea of UFO disclosure in recent months, as previously evidenced by rumors of an alleged speech he intends to give later this year in Roswell revealing all manner of secrets about UFOs and extraterrestrial visitors.
Now, following comments President Obama made on a podcast earlier this month, Trump has decided to speed things up by ordering federal agencies to begin releasing the government's files on UFOs and aliens.
Last week, he had openly criticized Obama for "improperly disclosing classified information", claiming that he had "made a big mistake".
"He took it out of classified information," he said. "He's not supposed to be doing that."
Oddly, Obama himself hadn't actually revealed very much at all, initially stating "aliens are real" during a quick-fire questions round before later reversing course and insisting that this had simply been his opinion and that he hadn't personally seen any evidence of aliens visiting the Earth.
Even so, it seems that this was enough to prompt Trump's condemnation.
Further questions arise as to why he would then decide to order the release of classified files if he was concerned about Obama revealing too much information.
According to reports, Trump has tasked Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth, as well as other agency heads, with releasing any UFO-related documents into the public domain.
Exactly what these will reveal - if anything - however, remains to be seen.
