The mysterious china cabinet

When I first got married my wife and I rented a nice little apartment which came with this real nice cherry wood china cabinet. We started noticing, even while we were in the room, that one certain glass would move up towards the front. It started happening all hours of the day and night and we could even hear it move.
One day I cleaned the glasses and mixed them all up. That night at around 5am we heard clanging coming from the kitchen and when we went out there we discovered that every glass had been moved right up against the door. I was really freaked out.

About 2 days later I was half asleep on the couch and I was awakened by this buzzing sound, I could feel electricity in the room and every hair stood up like when rubbing a balloon on a kid's head. All of a sudden this yellow streak of light shot from the cabinet and was bouncing around the room wall to wall. It was extremely loud and it didn't stop until it had gone out the window. We tried to entice it to happen again but it never did and we haven't had any more activity since then.

Well thats handy that it has never happened again, no use in asking for video and no way of proving it happened or did not. Sounds like the sort of story my grand-dad would make up to entertain the kids.

So do think it could have been the glasses themselves and not the cabinet? Were the glasses yours, or did they come supplied with the cabinet? What was the glass like that kept moving to the front? Ie A goblet or a star wars cup? Neat experience.

Story submission by: Pharis DJ Location: Michigan, United States Read More: http://www.unexplain...s-china-cabinet If this really happened, I have no idea what it could be. If it were just the glassed moving, I'd say it would have possibly been caused by some vibrations coming from the street or an adjacent building. But the light thing? No idea.

Glasses moving on a glass shelf can be put down to vibrations on the floor. Glass on glass is a very slippery surface, it doesn't take much to make those move. My mum has a china cabinet in her living room with glass doors and shelves, she keeps various things in it including glasses and tea cups and saucers. It's an old cabinet which closes with a key, when the door is locked sometimes the door itself rattles and sometimes the cups inside will rattle against the saucers. However, the yellow streak of light and buzzing sound, I'm afraid I can't offer any explanation for those.

Yes, I believe there was a statue in a museum that rotated within a glass case. It could be turned around and within several days it faced 180 degrees from where it started. Turns out vibrations cased by patrons walking on the floor caused the movement if memory serves. That's right, we had a thread about that news story - http://www.unexplain...howtopic=249991 Tiny vibrations from traffic and passers-by were causing the Manchester Museum artefact to spin on its axis http://www.telegraph...tue-solved.html
