It's taken me a while to build up the courage to do this. You see, I consider myself to be a rational man and even at the tender age of 9, when this journey began, and your mind should be open to things like Santa Claus, the tooth fairy, and who or what create bumps in the night. My mind was was pretty much closed. Yeah, I had a wild imagination, but I knew the difference between what was real, and what was obviously fantasy.
Then I met John.. John was about my age, and he explained Astral Projection to me. He told me how to do it, but I'll admit that I thought he was a bit of a nutter, as my English friends might say. A few nights later, I was in bed and feeling pretty tired. That conversation I'd had with John was still fresh in my thoughts. And there's this moment, between being awake and asleep. The golden hour, if you will, for leaving your body. My mind, in that moment, focused on the 'technique' that John had told me about, and it started.
A tingling sensation, in my hands at first... then it spread like wildfire through my body, and I could feel myself rising. Now, at this moment, I honestly didn't know what to think. Could this be a dream?? It certainly didn't feel like it. No, I knew the difference, even back then. IT WAS HAPPENING! my God, I was leaving my body.
My heart was pounding. I still remember the feeling to this day and I continued to rise. I kept my eyes shut, but I could feel it. Then, pure terror. I screamed (in spirit) and flipped around in midair. I started flailing my arms like I was drowning -- and my ascent stopped. I floated there, in midair, like a balloon that had been inadvertently let go. My heart continued to THUMP against my chest..
I reached out and grabbed something that felt like a chord. At the time, I really didn't understand what it was, but after a few seconds, I felt this chord yank me back toward my body with such force, that I thought my stomach had jumped up into my eye balls. I opened my eyes, safely back in the flesh, and looked around - "WOW, that was crazy," I thought. Could it have possibly been a dream??
Well, now I am 48 years old, and since that time I've explored the Astral Plane many, many times (eyes wide open, thank you very much) And I'e been to places and seen things that are far beyond my comprehension - honestly, I don't even think I've scratched the surface.
