UFOs have been spotted in the skies above a proposed nuclear waste storage site in Australia.
Some believe the sightings are a protest of an otherworldly origin, a local station manager reported seeing the lights following him as he was driving along the road to Helen Springs.
Muckaty Station manager Ray Aylett said he saw UFOs hovering over a part of his station north of Tennant Creek last Wednesday. He said he spotted strange lights between the two sites on the property under consideration for the dump. "I keep getting out the torch, I wanna get them down to have a beer or a steak but they won't come down," he said.

UFOs and nuclear often seem to go hand in hand. Near Rome, there is the nuclear Latina now disused. When the reactor was in operation was the largest in Europe. Since 2000 it is yet under dismantling but sightings above the plant never stopped and they are always very frequent.

I had a lot of trouble understanding this article. It would seem to me that it may be a hoax based on the fact that no one else has seen these lights. Why would they follow him and why wouldn't he try to take a picture or video?

Muckaty Station is in the middle of woop woop. There aren't a lot of people within cooee, so it's not strange that no-one else saw anything.

Gotta be kidding me - the NT News? Australia''s answer to Pravda? The people at the NT News are UFO nuts and think anything anyone sees in the sky is an Alien. Media Watch exposed them last year when they advertised a UFO "wave" - have a read of this to see just how accurate the NT News is in general. Link to video, if it does not work, just do a search on NT UFO wave at the site. http://www.abc.net.au/mediawatch/watch/default.htm?program=mediawatch&pres=20080929_2120&story=1 Partial tran from above link to video. Sounds a little 'fishy',to me! I linked a further link, from the link, and came across, another fellow from the region. A seemingly professional ufo hunter, and tourism promoter! Who claimed that it was 'all good for the tourists$$'! And on this basis alone, I cant help thinking, that this artical, is merely..'phase 2' of this marketing campain !!

This isn't the first report of the 'Min min' lights... And they're well known and mainly been made famouse for persuing people traveling through the NT. If you look into local ledgend, they're apparently 'spirits'. There were sightings of these lights recorded in cave paintings by local aboriginals, that date back to a time before Australia was colonised by the british...
