The Panteleenkos adopted their bear Stepan when he was just a cub and now they do everything together.
Most people would be terrified to go anywhere near a large 300lb bear, but for Russian husband and wife Svetlana and Yuriy Panteleenko, such a creature is little more than a household pet.

The 23-year-old bear, which the couple adopted when he was only three months old, is described as a "gentle giant" and is almost completely domesticated after a lifetime spent with humans.
His large size means that Stepen does get through rather a lot of food - mainly fish, vegetables and eggs - while his favorite treat is said to be an entire can of condensed milk.

"Stepan likes nothing more than to cuddle up with us on the sofa at night while we're watching television," said Svetlana. "He absolutely loves people and is a really sociable bear - despite what people might think, he is not aggressive at all. We have never been bitten by Stepan."

Holy hell jeremiah johnson was an intense movie. That really took me back. Yeah, while I'm all for animal-human non-sexual relations, precautions aren't at all unreasonable. Interesting case study. Let's see what happens.

The bear looks friendly enough but it's hardly a normal situation. What if something unforeseen happens and they're forced to let the bear go. He's so used to being pampered by humans I doubt he'd settle anywhere else, he's probably never mixed with or seen another live bear either.

Domesticated bears can be fun & cute - like Bruiser The Bear..     ..but they are animals, with animal instincts, that you never can trust.

Animals will always show love and affection back to those people that are kind and loving. The same cannot be said to those that are the complete opposite however. Don't be surprised either ! ~ AMEN
