Human babies can be created using skin cells

Scientists have found a way for two men to reproduce without the need for any female egg at all.
The groundbreaking discovery was made during an experiment at the University of Bath which involved creating three generations of mice using sperm and skin cells from adult males.

Previously it was believed that a baby could only be made by combining sperm with a female egg, but now it appears as though any cell in the human body can be fertilized by a sperm.
"It has been thought that only an egg cell was capable of reprogramming sperm to allow embryonic development to take place," said molecular embryologist Dr Tony Perry.

"Our work challenges that dogma, held since early embryologists first observed mammalian eggs in around 1827 and observed fertilisation 50 years later, that only an egg cell fertilised with a sperm cell can result in a live mammalian birth."

"We're talking about different ways of making embryos. Imagine that you could take skin cells and make embryos from them. This would have all kinds of utility."

So to respect the human right of one person, you prefer ruining multiple generation including your own?

Ruining? Careful with your words there, buddy. I've got physical defects, but I'm not ruined. I'm choosing not to pass on my genes. People born with defects are not inherently ruined. Body sovereignty is a thing, and it's a thing for everyone. Some people have superior genes, this is simple fact. But you can't start deciding that for others and enforcing it, without becoming very Hitlerish. Unless you're prepared to admit that you think that anyone born anything but 100% normally is a blight on society, "ruined" (your words), and not fit to live a normal life alongside the "normies." In which ... [More]

This procedure is a breakthrough in modern science and should be regarded as such. Man has sought to live and advance since the dawn of time and he will continue to do so, fighting nature and all its laws.  Eugenics is appealing to the rational mind but in this day and age I think we can live without a little bit of reason

Being someone on the autism spectrum I feel like if we did eugenics I never would of existed

And you're probably right...

Or you could be a better version. Who you are is your soul, the body is just a host

...... Anyways, it seem there might be another slight problem with this "new" way of procreating. Apparently once the embryo has been developed far enough, it still needs to be transplanted into a womb so it can develop the rest of the way safely. However there seems to be yet another bothersome problem, the success rate. Trials were done with mice and while mice are obviously not humans, the success rate was a mere 24 percent. That is pretty dismal to say the least so what would the odds be for human trials? But since our society has developed an increasing disregard for life including human,... [More]

Yeah, no morality involved. If the fetus is 8 months old and with a trace of genetic defects, kill it and re-do another "baby". Up to the point, the tech will lead to a "no make love" world; like in movies when aliens need no love; everything is replaced by chemical and tech
