A mysterious ripple in the waters near West Palm Beach has created quite a stir under the name of the 'Muck Monster', however to date aside from the ripple nobody has seen any trace of an actual creature there.
A mysterious ripple in the waters near West Palm Beach has a name — the Muck Monster — and has been fodder for David Letterman. Trouble is, no one has actually seen the Muck Monster.

How old is Nessie now? Maybe she retired to Florida like everyone else. Loch's a bit cold on her old bones.

Manatee anybody?

I thought that it was confirmed to be just a bunch of manatees. And I posted this back in 2009?! Damn, time flies!

I like the retired Nessie myself, but that's just me.

I seriously doubt this is anything even close to being a monster. I mean, just reading the article, it's terribly obvious this "monster" is only for cash purposes. Not to mention this beach appears to be near a very well populated place. People are near the water very often. So why just one video? Thumbs down on this one, definitely.

Seriously? Obviously the folks who think this is some kind of monster spend very little time on the water.

I have seen videos of massive snakes like an anaconda in the water , and the wake is very similar. The only difference with that is you always see the snout of the snake pierce the surface to breathe!

Lot of necromancy'd threads popping up of late. Someone should look up the Yird Pigs one! If not, I'LL do it! . Muck Monster though, excellent name. I'm guessing it was Old Man Willard, the caretaker of the local fairground.

The wake of this monster is caused by a tail going up and down, not side to side. Only a dolphin, porpoise or a manatee fits the bill in this instance. A manatee, when chased by a boat, will not surface but swims on, much like this creature. A cetacean might have popped its nose out. So, the previous posters who suggested a manatee are most likely close to the mark.
