Moon-bombing mission finds water

NASA have reported that their LCROSS moon-bombing mission in which a probe impacted the lunar surface back on October 9th was successful in locating water with 24 gallons being kicked up in the resulting plume of debris.

NASA's moon-smashing mission may not have provided a huge show for the folks on Earth, but now there's sweet vindication for scientists. The plume of lunar debris kicked up from ancient lunar crater kicked up 24 gallons of water, LCROSS mission staff reported today.

It was a research project. Just like what we do at the bottom of the oceans and in Antarctica. Should we not perform research in those places either? The data gathered is hardly a national secret that we are keeping from the Red Soviets, now is it? Using such logic, we should not own any proper...

Yes...you'd have to undoubtedly clean it up if you wished to consume it. That could certainly be done with the technology available. After all, we have people on the ISS currently consuming their own pee, cleaned up into purified water, fit for consumption...
