A new study based on images returned by the Japanese-UK-US Hinode satellite has found that the solar wind generated by the sun is likely to be the result of processes involving magnetic fields.
Solar wind generated by the sun is probably driven by a process involving powerful magnetic fields, according to a new study led by UCL (University College London) researchers based on the latest observations from the Hinode satellite.

I thought this was already known. I am missing seeing any new discovery in regards to this article beyond giving a new name to the processes we have already been observing. New name: a process called "slipping reconnection" may drive these winds. Of course the new name only "MAY" be what drives these winds. Later in the article: "...and yet we still don't know what drives these outflows." Sorry but I am not getting much new from this article at all. Still I do find this topic very interesting. Magnification
