Stalin blocked two Hitler assassination attempts

New testimony from a top Russian general has revealed that Stalin blocked two assassination attempts on Hitler.
The Soviet leader had called off the planned assassinations because he feared Hitler's associates would form separate peace treaties with the United States and Britain.
Josef Stalin blocked two attempts to kill Adolf Hiter during the Second World War, fearing that his replacement as Nazi leader would make peace with the Western Allies, a top Russian general said.

Wow. I know Stalin was a tyrannical dictator in his own rights, but Stalin's paranoia overshadowed the possibility of being an actual hero. Who knows, if history would have happened differently, countless lives would have been spared and maybe a truce might have prevented the Cold War.

One reason he "might" have done this was because Stalin predicted that once Hitler was out of the picture, the allies would turn their attention towards him. Just my opinion though.

Maybe Stalin figured with Hitler dead, someone who actually was a good general would persue the war against Russia and win.
