Europa's ocean is rich in oxygen

A new study has revealed that Jupiter's moon Europa is rich enough in oxygen to support millions of tons of fish.
Europa has long been a subject of great interest to scientists as it is believed to be home to a vast liquid water ocean beneath a crust of ice 100 miles thick. If this is true and the new find turns out to be correct then it increases the chances even more that there could be life there.
There may be enough oxygen in the waters of Jupiter's moon Europa to support millions of tons worth of fish, according to a new study. And while nobody is suggesting there might actually be fish on Europa, this finding suggests the Jovian satellite could be capable of supporting the kinds of life familiar to us here on Earth, if only in microbial form.

It would take a long time to drill through 100 miles of ice to get a sample of the water. No way! I've seen Armageddon several times. We have this handled.

Note for the future: Don't give BP any permits to drill on Europa. This solar system needs a clean ocean somewhere.

Well that last crack was out of place, Siara, seeing as the mess is made out of stuff that's underground/water, not stuff placed there by BP. This is not surprising information, it's pretty much just more evidence supporting one possible answer to a question we have.

Agree. The romanticism of the stars has been some what lost on newer generations. They really are kind of "meh" to the more recent discoveries in space. Gone are the "Space Explorer" adventures of the 50s-60s and all of those cool episodes of The Twilight Zone. They are typically depicted with breasts so.... well at least the movies no longer state that the closest star is only 100,000 miles away. that is other than sol which was then and is today 93 million miles away.

Amazing .. We shouldn't have looked so far, Its right there in our lawn.

Nope, we looked where the movies said, they were wrong, and it was good they were. If the closest star were 100,000 miles away, can we say "SPF 4,000,000,000 anyone?"

Anything is possible. No its not.

First you disprove the multiverse, and learn everything knowable in the universe you've determined to exist, then you can judge whether anything's possible or not. Not before that.

We'd all be Plasma Beings then! In that case, I'm sure Europa would have life on it, lol.
