Pluto may have been demoted but it turns out it is the largest body in the outer solar system after all.
Back in 2006 Pluto was demoted to the status of "dwarf planet" following the discovery of other objects in the outer solar system such as Eris which was thought to be larger. Now it appears that Eris isn't larger than Pluto at all - so should Pluto now regain its original status as a planet ?
Now that Pluto may have regained its status as the largest object in the outer solar system, should astronomers consider giving it back another former title — that of full-fledged planet?
