Ed Jarrett needed a whopping 1.6 million pounds of sand and 1500 volunteers to make the 37ft castle.
It took over 2,500 hours of work to complete and has been recognised by Guinness World Records as the tallest sandcastle ever made. Jarrett himself had held the previous record with a 29ft castle he'd built back in 2003.
He needed a lot more than a bucket and spade and a few pats on the top. In fact Ed Jarrett, from Connecticut, needed 1,500 volunteers and 1. 6million pounds of sand and water to build the world's largest sandcastle - breaking his own record in the process.
