Siblings sue mother for $50,000

A brother and sister have sued their own mother for $50,000 on the grounds of bad parenting.
The actual crimes however are somewhat questionnable, Kimberly Garrity was accused of everything from failing to take her son to a car show to phoning her daughter to come home from a party at midnight - hardly actions worthy of a lawsuit. Despite being represented by three lawyers, the siblings ( now 20 and 23 ) failed to win their case.
They alleged Garrity failed to take Kathryn to a car show and threatened Steven II with phoning police if he did not buckle his seatbelt. The children claim she ‘haggled’ over dress prices and called at midnight to tell Kathryn to come home from a party, reported the Chicago Tribune.

This woman should've never been allowed to breed. Now the rest of us have to deal with her moronic offspring, thanks.

I think there's a lot more to this story than we're being told , and it would appear that the ''Media”” have picked the most ridiculous reasons given in the lawsuit just to enliven the story , make it a little more sensational . I think the writing's on the wall for how a lot of parents perform , it's about time parents were held accountable for their actions . Lets look at it logically , if these children had been given an emotionally nourishing upbringing they wouldn't have felt as if they'd been let down .... This case as I see it had nothing to do with money , it was all about the fail... [More]

Here's to hoping it backfires on the kids, I imagine it will. When mom and dad buy the farm, they should donate all their belongings to charity, from what it sounds like, these kids don't deserve an inheritance.

I say this is the father's doing completely. He sounds like he's trying to get back at his ex-wife, maybe for taking him to the cleaners during the divorce. The kids are grown and they seem to have inherited their father's vindictive ways. Of course, I could be wrong... I don't agree... Although it was indeed probably the father instigating this lawsuit, for this to be taken to court the children would also have to agree to go to court with it. They're just as accountable and moronic as the father is for filing this lawsuit. This woman should've never been allowed to breed. Now the rest of us ... [More]

I think the siblings need to be shipped in a third world country for a few years to see how lucky they really are. I agree. Some "community" service in a third world country would do wonders for these kid's attitude. On the other hand, they are what they've been taught - Wonder if the parents recognize their teachings? Doubtful, but justice none the less.

They're just as accountable and moronic as the father is for filing this lawsuit. Why should the woman be at fault? It's very clear that they got their ridiculous I'll-sue-you-genes from their father... Fair enough, I should've said, "she should not have been allowed to breed with their father."

Don't let your ignorance of what is going on in your own country cloud your judgement. Yeah, but that's in Quebec. They hardly concider themselves Canadian. And I'm not saying that for the sake of supporting what I stated.

I don't think we should necessarily look down on a grown kid suing his parents for a bad upbringing. My mom is friends with a woman who needs to lose thousands of dollars to her kids some day to make up for the bullcrap she puts them through. But suing because his card had no money in it? Really? I think we need to bring back the Guillotine.

Wow, just wow. Those kicks both need a good kick to the head. I wish she counder sued for legal cost, as a two your battle would be quite costly no doubt.
