Neighbours had assumed the worst when they found the 95-year-old not breathing and motionless.
Believing her to have died and in keeping with Chinese tradition, Li Xiufeng was placed in a coffin in her house so that relatives could pay their last respects. The day before the funeral however, a full six days later, they entered the house and discovered that her coffin was empty. After searching high and low they were astonished to find her alive and well cooking food in her kitchen. "I slept for a long time," she said. "After waking up, I felt so hungry, and wanted to cook something to eat."
Neighbour Chen Qingwang, 60, who originally found Mrs Xiufeng, said: 'She didn't get up, so I came up to wake her up. No matter how hard I pushed her and called her name, she had no reactions. '

Whatever happened to the mirror under the nostrils to test for sure a sign of breath creating fog on said mirror, its been used for centuries. Maybe gamgam had a hearty health insurance policy or a grand inheritance to pass on. One foot in the grave, the other in the kitchen.

People can breathe so slowly and so shallow that it won't show up on a mirror.

Thats where the saying ' Saved by the Bell ' comes from... Not true http://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/saved-by-the-bell.html MeaningSaved by a last minute intervention. Origin This is boxing slang that came into being in the latter half of the 19th century. A boxer who is in danger of losing a bout can be 'saved' from defeat by the bell that marks the end of a round. The earliest reference to this that I can find is in the Massachusetts newspaper The Fitchburg Daily Sentinel, February 1893: "Martin Flaherty defeated Bobby Burns in 32 rounds by a complete knockout. Half a dozen times Flaherty ... [More]

I read a book once about premature burial due to an inherited medical condition. Book called "Elementals" Every newborn received a silver dagger to be used on them by their family in a ceremony prior to burial. To be ceremonially stabbed through the heart prior to closing the coffin. It had other creepy subtexts as well...I may have to read it again. It was set in Dauphin Island, Alabama - a location near my home.

Hahah that was so weird... She probably passed out and the family didnt know how to properly check a pulse. It's not like she went to the doctors or anything

This is exactly what happened to my great-grandmother. At her wake, with the coffin in the living room she sat up and when she realized what was going on, boy was she p***ed!!! And she lived another 15 years! Her white hair also slowly returned to its original color after that.
