Cat survives 8 days being mailed inside a box

Credit: Lau20fe / CC BY-SA 4.0 (adapted) The bizarre incident happened when a cat called Cookie managed to sneak inside the package without her owner's knowledge and was inadvertently sent on a 260-mile trip across the UK.

The stowaway feline was eventually rescued after eight days when the recipient found her inside the package and called the RSPCA ( Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. )After a thorough check-up Cookie was found to be very dehydrated but otherwise alive and well.

"I feel terrible about what's happened, you know," said her owner, Julie. "I mean, I put everything in the box and I sealed it straight away, so I don't know how she managed to get in there."

"It was a miracle because she was alive, she's managed to survive that awful ordeal."
