An elderly gentleman using the facilities at his home in Ireland suffered a rather unfortunate injury.
Recent flooding and a broken sewer pipe are believed to have been responsible for an unexpected visit from an inquisitive rodent for one unfortunate pensioner in Ireland's County Cork recently.

The incident, which saw the man receive a painful bite on the behind, is just the latest in a string of problems caused by the floods and has prompted the local council to consider flushing rat poison through the sewerage system in an effort to prevent any more unintended visits.
"The flooding resulted in another problem for residents, that of rat infestation, which really upset many families, mentally and physically," said Councillor Noel Collins.

"Indeed, one elderly gentleman suffered a rat bite to his posterior while using his toilet, and had to receive immediate medical attention."

Local residents are now being advised to keep their toilet seat lids down when they are not in use.

Imagine being that poor rat, coming up for air and seeing what he saw.

When I read these types of things I am always thinking about things from my point of view, having to sit or hover over the target area. I always picture guys being lucky because they can stand...It occurs to me...that when men do sit down on a toilet...they have 'more'...dangling...closer targets... Be very afraid!

Guess this is a new variety of the old Germanic curse: "The lightning may strike you on the toilet!" (and that is the child safe version).

Imagine being that poor rat, coming up for air and seeing what he saw. And the smell, too. The rat thought he was leaving the sewers. That is scary. I had a couple of rats come up my cellar drain in PA. My Dad and I killed one right away. The other hit in the cracks of my foundation which was stone and mortar (the house was 150 years old at the time). I sealing the rat in the foundation with plaster. The S.O.B. ate the plaster to escape. We got him later. I haven't had a rat in my house in NC. Lots of bugs that come up the pipes, eluding my exterminator, but no rats. IT doesn't matter where he ... [More]

He just got a little kiss on the cheek, nothing to worry about. More seriously, that has always been a strange fear of mine that I keep in the back of my head, ever since I heard a similar story ( a girl had found a rat in her toilet but fortunately, no one was doing any business there at the time!)

Being female this concerns me! Have read about snakes a few times, now rats pop up and start biting? About eight years ago my uncle had frogs come out of his for about a month, they stopped and it has not happened again as far as I know. I'm Scared! You'll just have to **** standing up.
