Irish aviation authorities are investigating reports from multiple pilots of a strange object on November 9th.
The incident began at 6:47am when the pilot of British Airways flight BA94, which was flying from Montreal to Heathrow, contacted air traffic control in Shannon to report the sighting of a UFO.

"It was moving so fast," she said. "It came up on our left-hand side and then rapidly veered to the north. It was a very bright light that disappeared at very high speed."

Several other airline pilots in the general vicinity also reported seeing something unusual.
One Virgin Airlines pilot, who had been flying from Orlando to Manchester, described it as a "meteor or another object making some kind of re-entry", but went on to add that there were actually "multiple objects following the same sort of trajectory - very bright from where we were."

According to reports, air traffic control was not able to pick up anything on radar and there were no scheduled military exercises or operations in the area at the time.

The Irish Aviation Authority has since stated that an investigation in to the matter is underway.

An audio transcript of BA94's conversation with air traffic control can be found - here. (17mins in)

What about turbulence from these aircraft? I heard the full recordings on YouTube and all of them reported turbulence. At first thought it might of been a storm

While living in Ceredigion, I saw a UFO in the direction of the Irish sea coast, about thirteen miles inland, around 1980. There were a lot of sightings then, but I only recently found out there was a book about it, called The Welsh Triangle.  Moreover, remembering the Rendlesham code transmitted from the UFO, if true, one of the locations they deciphered the message as stating as a location for their bases was off the west coast of Ireland: apparently a mythical island called Hy-Brasil. I first saw it on Ancient Aliens, and recently read it in Nigel Watson's UFO Investigations Manual, p. 122.... [More]
