What could be producing this light ? Image Credit: Facebook / Juliana Asayevich
A Canary Wharf resident was left baffled after she captured footage of a flashing light under the water.
Something unusual may be lurking beneath the waters of London's iconic river - that is, at least, according to footage recently posted up on the Canary Wharf and Isle of Dogs Facebook group.
The clip was posted up on August 15th by Juliana Asayevich who had been out and about when she noticed the peculiar flashing light shining beneath the water's surface.
Clearly visible in the darkness, the light blinks on and off at a rapid pace.
So what is it ?
Some speculated that there could be a submarine parked beneath the water, while others suggested that it could be some sort of beacon designed to warn ships about a hidden hazard.
Others also suggested that it could be something that someone had dumped in the water.
"It's probably the location of the plug," one person joked. "All you have to do is pull it out."
You can check out the footage for yourself below - what do you think the light is ?
Not that I think this is worth spending much time trying to analyse, but: 1. No, it's doesn't act like a reflection - note all the little ripples around it - it should be distorted. 2. Hmmmmm. It looks very, very similar to the lights way across the other side of the river, in terms of color, brightness, size, shape and even the fuzziness of it's edges..... Just sayin'.. apart from being to explain it with a simple device, it also would be very easy to fake. Surely by now many folks have visited that spot and more footage is around....? (yawn) I can't be bothered looking it up...
