As if the odds of winning once weren't high enough - one man has managed to defy them twice.
Juan Hernandez of Uniondale in Nassau County purchased a New York Lottery $10 million Deluxe scratch-off game card earlier this month in an attempt to win the top prize.
Incredibly, he found that he had done exactly that - scooping an enormous sum sufficient to ensure that both he and his family would never go wanting for anything ever again.
Even more incredible, however, was the fact that this wasn't even the first time he'd won - just three years prior he won the $10 million jackpot from exactly the same type of scratch card.
The odds of this happening are truly mind-blowing (the chance of winning even once is roughly 1 in 3.52 million.)
According to Hernandez, he hasn't even figured out how to spend the first lot of prize money.
Exactly what he will do with another $10 million remains to be seen.
