Long-lost Roswell incident news report uncovered 75 years on

An issue of a long-defunct Roswell newspaper covering the UFO crash has recently resurfaced.
While most of us with an interest in the Roswell incident will be familiar with the Roswell Daily Record's coverage of the events which took place in New Mexico in 1947, another newspaper from the time - The Roswell Morning Dispatch - had also published its own take on events.

The paper, which was discontinued in 1950, published a headline on the morning of July 9th, 1947 which read "Army Debunks Roswell Flying Disk As World Simmers With Excitement."

It also went on to repeat the official "cover-up" narrative with the subheading "Officers Say Disk Is A Weather Balloon", along with a piece about sheriff George Wilcox fielding calls from the media.

Nick Pope, who once headed up the British MoD's UFO desk, found the piece particularly interesting.
"It's a fascinating piece of history that time had forgotten," he said. "It just shows that 75 years after the Roswell incident, there are still discoveries to be made in the archives."

"Any historian will tell you that going back to the original sources is priceless when it comes to getting an insight into what happened and how those people involved were reacting and perceiving things, and what the feeling was in the local community."

"This is just an amazing glimpse into Roswell in 1947 - which was ground zero for this mystery that still endures to this day."

I hope Sky is Well. While we certainly had our heated debates, it was always respectful.    Cheers, Badeskov

Good times, bmk, good times indeed. I feel that the gas from the UFO=ET has kind of gone out of the balloon.    There is not really any new stuff and all the old cases have been largely debunked. Lazar and others do tend to creep up once in a while, but are readily put to rest again.    Cheers, Badeskov

You would think the Ramey letter would have sealed the deal on this. Even if 1/2 the words turned out to be misinterpreted by the computer analysis, Its still confirmation..

I haven't spoken to him, sorry, however he should still be reachable via PM if you want to get in touch with him.

I’m still of the opinion that the “aliens!” comments were from someone involved in covering up actual secret goings on hitting on what he thought was a brilliant distraction from the truth only to be carpeted the next day.

Yeap, pretty much... Those pesky ETs figured out how to avoid gazillion cameras worldwide))))

Well, in some cases, I'd say, even 60 or more hours)))
