Back in 1996, a mother, her son and her friend encountered something unexplained in a remote part of Scotland.
The peculiar series of events began on September 23rd of that year when the woman (Mary), her son (Peter) and her friend (Jane) drove from Falkand to the village of Freuchie for some coffee.

As they drove along, they spotted what appeared to be a dark triangular craft in the sky with two lights on it. The trio stopped briefly to observe it before continuing on their journey.

On the return trip a short time later, they witnessed the same object again.

After hovering for a while, the mysterious craft sped across the valley and disappeared.

Upon returning to Jane's house and explaining what they had seen to her daughter (Susan), they decided to venture back out and take her along for the ride so that she could see it for herself.

Retracing their route, it wasn't long before they spotted a white light and a blue glow over some nearby woods. Hoping to get a closer look, they drove along a narrow country road and again witnessed the phenomenon which this time was sending out beams of red, blue and green light.
Then, moving around in front of the light, they saw what appeared to be a number of figures moving about and an unknown structure illuminated by the glow of the main object.

After returning home and reporting what they'd seen to a UFO investigation hotline, they decided to venture back once more at around 11:30pm at night to see if the object was still there.

This time they saw a flashing light high up on a nearby hill and, upon reaching the site of the previous encounter, again witnessed the strange figures moving around in the field.

Then, without warning, an anomalous 'mist' started to fill the area. According to the witnesses, it seemed to contain 'cocoons' made of a fibrous material which each contained a small entity.

Terrified, they sped away, observing a bright blue flash behind them as they went.

Even today, no definitive explanation for what they observed that night has ever been found.
