Artist trains monkey to give him a permanent tattoo with a needle gun

Image: AI-generated (Midjourney) It goes without saying that anyone looking to have a tattoo done will be keen to opt for a professional tattoo artist who won't make a mess of the job and leave a permanent reminder of it on their skin.

Artist and influencer Funky Matas, however, decided to throw caution to the wind and allow a literal monkey to take possession of a tattoo gun and ink a design on his knee.

He had to fly to Mexico to find both a suitable animal and a tattoo shop crazy enough to let him do it.After training the monkey for just two hours and providing it with a sufficient amount of treats, the oblivious primate took the needle gun and got to work.

The resulting tattoo was less of a design and more of a mess of scribbles and lines.

The stunt was ultimately intended to provide publicity for an NFT-based business venture.

One thing's for sure - it certainly succeeded in generating a lot of attention.
