A creature said to be the mythical Chupacabra has been captured on film by a drone camera operator.
The beast, which has been a fixture of South American folklore for years, had been attributed with a recent spate of unexplained animal deaths on a farm in the Bolivian city of Ouro.
Some news outlets reported that cows, llamas and alpacas had all been found dead with the blood drained from their bodies, while elsewhere in the region there have also been cases of ducks and turkeys showing up dead without apparent explanation.
When a local drone operator captured footage of a strange animal roaming a field near Ouro, therefore, news outlets were quick to jump on the notion that this was in fact the culprit.
"It looks like a dog, but it has a hump towards the back. Looking at the images it has the same positioning that a Chupacabra has."
Lucio Portugal, who is a government official in the town of Canllapata, confirmed to a local news network that the animals had been found with all their blood drained out.
"We don't know if it's the Chupacabra or not," he said.
A local news report (which includes the drone footage) can be viewed below.
I saw a pic of a shot feral Rotty at a pest control exhibit at a rural field day. The guy reckoned it killed over 50 sheep in one night. It was a beautiful dog and made me angry at the owner for letting it get loose.
Well, Occupational Hubris, I must say, in defense of "getting it right", that all the cattle that are mutilated in-the-mysterious-way, have been exsanguinated. During the 1970's in the US, there were 100,000 cases, with 10,000 investigated by county sheriffs, local and state police, or feds. And that is exactly why I looked into cattle mutilations; you cannot deny the facts. And I learned a lot
Most of the people making such claims are not familiar with decomposition, or, in the case of police officers, are often simply lying. A lot of "cattle mutilations" are embellished for insurance purposes.
Please OH! Where did you get this misinformation from?? A cattle rancher with 10,000 head of cattle will see 2 head die from attrition per week. They know decomposition best. Did you just make that up lol! C'mon dude. Police would have no reason to lie. Do you have a link for that?? apparently, you have never really looked at the photos on line? seeing is believing. Never heard of such a charge. All the insurance agent has to do is take one look at the animal or the photo, and he'll ok payment. why embellish? there's no need to. OH, I decided to look into cattle mutilation... [More]
