The UFO Phenomenon

Scotland's own 'Bermuda Triangle' still intrigues over 30 years on

One part of Scotland has become synonymous with strange phenomena, UFO sightings and other weirdness.
Having served as a focal point for unexplained phenomena in Scotland since the 1990s, the small town of Bonnybridge in Falkirk remains steeped in mystery and intrigue.

One of the earliest accounts of UFOs in the region was reported in 1992 by local businessman James Walker who had been driving along when he was stopped by a mysterious, luminous star-shaped object that was hovering in the middle of the road.

The encounter ended when the object flew off at "incredible speed".

In the months and years that followed, hundreds of UFO sightings were reported in the region, including accounts of alien abductions and people being 'buzzed' by strange objects in their cars.

Local councillor William Buchanan has heard more than a few strange tales in his time.

"I was in the house one night, and I'd just come back from the council, and what happened is, I'd seen a car coming into the driveway and I went out to find out who it was," he said during a recent TalkTV documentary. "It was a chap I've known all my days and he says 'is it okay, can we talk?'"
The man recounted to him a very odd experience that had allegedly taken place after he had met a woman that he was having an affair with in a remote location.

"The next thing is, coming into the woods there, up came these 6ft black aliens looking in the windows and then the next thing is he was in a spaceship and he was getting prodded," Buchanan recalled.

"He says since that happened we've had ESP (Extra Sensory Perception). He says 'I can levitate. I've got all these strange powers'."

As things stand, the man's claims have yet to be corroborated, but it is the sheer number of unusual stories to have come out of the area around Bonnybridge that has made it such a notable location.

Even today, people are still reporting strange sightings and encounters there.

Exactly why this should be the case, however, remains unclear.

This part is absolutely brilliant ?  ... a woman that he was having an affair with in a remote location.  "The next thing is, coming into the woods there, up came these 6ft black aliens looking in the windows and then the next thing is he was in a spaceship and he was getting prodded," Buchanan recalled.

Then after that bit of butt action could suddenly levitate and had ESP.  I'm getting some South Park vibes here...?
