Something large was reportedly moving through the waters of Scotland's most famous loch back in April.
This year has proven quite bountiful as far as Loch Ness Monster sightings are concerned, with five official sightings having already been recorded by the official register in the first half of 2026.
The latest, which occurred on April 21st at around 7:55am, was reported by Sara Gubicza - a tourist from the US who had been visiting the Highlands with her husband.
What she saw resembled a white shark fin gliding through the choppy waters of the loch.
"The fin size was about an 18 inch triangle and it was whitish grey," she told
The Official Loch Ness Monster Sightings Register.
"As far as how fast it was moving, I'm not really sure as I was on a bus riding by when I saw it."
"It seemed to be right in the middle of the loch. It wasn't close to any shore line. It was close to Loch Dochfour and before the Urquhart Castle coming from Inverness."
"Because we were coming from Inverness, we were going south and the fin was going the opposite direction so north."
Exactly what she saw in the water remains unclear - some believe that there really is a large, prehistoric creature roaming the waters of the loch, while others maintain that most sightings can be attributed to mistaken identity i.e. wakes, local wildlife or optical illusions.
With no definitive explanation forthcoming, the mystery is likely to endure for a long time to come.
