A short clip from a nature documentary shows what appears to be a humanoid figure moving near to a herd of caribou.
The footage, which has been doing the rounds for some years now, gained renewed attention recently when it was picked up by a number of news sites and spread around on social media.
It's a clip from an old documentary entitled The Great North which was shot by a Japanese film crew.
The crew had been situated on one side of a river in a remote part of Quebec, Canada while capturing footage of a herd of caribou wading through the water and then running off toward the hills.
They had always remained adamant that nobody else was present on the other side of the river.
Despite this, a strange figure can be seen briefly standing up, running toward the right, then crouching back down behind a grassy rise that blocks them from view.
The identity of the mysterious figure has generated some heated debate over the years, with some suggesting that the clip is evidence of a Bigfoot roaming the Canadian wilderness and others maintaining that it is simply a person with a backpack - despite the crew not seeing anyone.
Others, again, believe that the figure is actually an optical illusion and that what you can see in the footage is a caribou or other animal that happens to be partially hidden from view behind the rise.
