A special handbook detailing the UFO phenomenon has been issued to police chiefs across the United States.
The 11-page document, which was issued by the Major Cities Chiefs Association, provides a wealth of general information about UFOs (or UAPs) that police chiefs might find helpful in dealing with cases.
Entitled "Reference Guide", the handbook includes sections on everything from the Department of Defense's current stance on the phenomenon to links to UFO report archives and declassified files.
One section entitled "Law Enforcement Considerations" reads:
"Reports released by AARO and ODNI among other U.S. Government and non-profit entities claim that UAP present a clear threat to national security, since their capabilities and origins are unknown."
"It's in the interest of law
enforcement to be aware of trends and reporting on UAP due to the unknown threat they may pose and their continued presence in controlled and restricted airspace where police air support units operate."One section of the handbook includes a history of government investigations into UFOs, while another talks all about whistleblowers, including former Pentagon officials, pilots and politicians.
There's also a complete list of UFO archives and investigative bodies, both in the US and elsewhere.
In short, the handbook is actually quite an interesting read - not only for those in law enforcement but for anyone in general who happens to have an interest in the UFO phenomenon.
You can check out and/or download the guide for yourself -
