A veteran Nessie hunter has recorded webcam footage showing something unusual moving across the water.
Eoin O'Faodhagain is certainly no stranger to recording and uploading footage of Loch Ness Monster sightings, having ended up in the local papers on multiple occasions thanks to his vigilant watch over the surface of Scotland's most enigmatic loch.

His latest footage, which was captured on the evening of September 17th at Lochend, shows what appears to be an animal of some sort producing a sizable wake as it moves through the water.

"Unknown 8 foot long animal with hump rising out of the water 3 feet back from the front of the wake, and as it turns to the left, its reddish brown hump can be clearly seen out of the water at 1 minute 25 seconds on the screen recording," O'Faodhagain wrote.

The footage is quite clear, making it easy to pick out the wake being produced by the creature.

Interestingly, some people can be seen on the shoreline nearby, but O'Faodhagain reckons that it would have been very difficult for them to have seen anything from that position.

"You can really see nothing at that level across the surface of the Loch, you think you would see everything but you don't," he wrote.
"When you're looking across a flat surface you wouldn't see a wake out in the Loch, you have to be in an elevated position."

As things stand, the identity of the creature producing the wake remains a complete mystery.

Update:

Shortly after posting this story, the video itself was taken down as O'Faodhagain believes that he has solved the mystery.

In an email to Unexplained-Mysteries.com, he explained:

"Yesterday evening while watching the live stream on the VILN Lochend Webcam, Loch Ness,in clearer surface conditions, I saw the same object going the same direction with the same wake, as I reported to the main stream media last week."

"The object is clearly a swimmer dragging an pale orange float behind him.For this reason, I have taken down the sighting recording from my you tube channel. It was not my intention to mislead the public, as it was a genuine misidentification."

I would never swin in that lake. Only the thinking of large fish, sea searpents, dinosaurs etc underneath in those dark waters make me anxious.

I'm not a Nessie believer, but I love listening to Adrian Shine talk about it.

Hes a very savvy cool fellow, iirc he went into the nessie phenomenon a believer or at least rather hopeful but after decades hands on research last i read he doesnt think there is any undiscovered loch monster. He also said if there is he will be delighted, seems he has a nessie museum, hes one paranormal profiteer i can respect, not out duping the credulous.

Well we won one again, It reminds me of a jeff meldumb blunder, also an expect in this area of cryptozoology, Im comparing this nessie mistake to jeffs snowwalker fail however i commend the nessie hunter for being up front with his error, still it serves to prove just how bad eye witnesses really are overestimating size etc, This cat jumped to set things straight where jeff after overestimating size and other details and saying he saw no way it was a man in suit and shown it was a promo for a show still tried to blame others for what he said.

Any guess the depth there?

I'm not sure, but this damn lake is a quite deep everywhere. The average deep is 132 m.(433ft). Tmax deep is 227 m.(744 ft) But, the main thing with Loch Ness is the the water visibility. Already two meaters from a shore the water visibility is 0 (zero). It is dark and deep lake. So, you can''t see if something is swimming or coming below you.

Ty, yeah, too deep for my tastes, I used to play on the butler chain of lakes in orlando early 90s spring fed some water would be gin clear where some was very brown tea stained from the cypress trees, While i did enjoy hydro sliding it was unnerving to be way out in that deep dark water waiting even a few moments for the boat to come back, Weird side effect after a day in the water my sterling silver jewelry would look like gold, but by the time i drove home less than an hour it was back silver.
