A new image has emerged showing what appears to be a 'hump' just under the surface of the water.
After a quiet couple of months, this week has seen the reveal of the first Loch Ness monster photograph of the year courtesy of the Loch Ness Center in Inverness (see image below).

Details remain rather thin on the ground, so we're not sure where exactly on the loch it was taken, but it appears to show a dark 'mass' or 'hump' partially submerged in the water.

Efforts are now underway to analyze the photograph and determine what it could be.

"We've had numerous observations over the years, but this recent sighting has been particularly captivating," said the center's general manager Nagina Ishaq.
"The conditions on the day of this sighting were absolutely perfect."

"This could very well be our first significant sighting of the year, further fueling the mystery surrounding Loch Ness and its most famous resident."

"As always, we are committed to solving the mystery of Nessie once and for all. Our previous collaborations... allowed us to advance our research efforts significantly, and this potential sighting is a reminder that the mystery of Loch Ness is far from solved."

"We continue to explore every possibility and are committed to uncovering the truth."

Again, why is there just one (1) picture?  Even presuming this was an animal of some sort, it didn't teleport from the bottom of the lake into this position, just beneath the surface, and then teleport back down.  My 6 year old will take 200 pictures of her foot in the back of the car.  "Slithering" is locomotion, and there must have been other movement to capture.  I appreciate the photographer's excitement, but this the story is unnecessarily ambiguous.

They have very dark waves in Loch Ness that do.look like they are actual animals. A case of seeing what you want to see...

One born every minute, and another to take advantage of them.

If the article has to put a big red circle around what the pic is supposed to show , i wouldn't say it's " fantastic ".

There's no mention of how far in the loch this sighting took place, except that it was spotted at Dores Beach. https://lochness.com/2025s-first-potential-sighting-of-loch-ness-monster-spotted-at-dores-beach/ The water at Dores Beach is shallow.

Debris, floating in the water. How quaint.
