Joe Rogan: Trump too 'cagey' to release UFO files to the public

Earlier this year, while speaking on The Lex Fridman Podcast, the 78-year-old seemed quite enthusiastic about the subject and expressed a willingness to see to it that more UFO-related classified material was released to the general public should he win the US election in November.

"Will you help push the Pentagon to release more footage, which a lot of people claim is available?" Fridman asked.

"Oh yeah, sure, I'll do that. I would do that. I'd love to do that. I have to do that," Trump replied, while suggesting that "there could be life on other planets."

It's certainly not the first time that Trump has touched upon the topic, having mentioned it even during the final days of his previous term in office back in 2020.

"A lot of my friends are very concerned about what the federal government is doing when it comes to UFOs," Fox Business host Lou Dobbs said to him. "Are you going to commit more resources to exploring UFOs and opening the documents to the public ?""Well, I think you're the - probably in this country - you're the UFO expert, so I'm going to be totally guided by the great Lou Dobbs," Trump replied.

"And I will tell you that I'll do whatever you ask me to do, including total transparency."

More recently, though, doubts have been cast over whether he will actually be as forthcoming regarding UFO disclosure as he had previously made out.

"When I confronted Mr. Trump [during our recent interview], he was very cagey, very cagey... He didn't tell me ****," podcast host Joe Rogan said on Tuesday.

"It was basically like neither confirm nor deny."

"I think he knows something, I [just] don't think he's interested."
